Meet The Team

CEO

Kuorkor Dzani is the Owner and Chief Beauty Consultant at Twists and Locs Salon in Ghana. Passionate about natural hair, natural products and supporting local enterprise, she stated the salon in September of 2009 with a goal of providing a professional, premier resource for the care of natural hair in Ghana.

Kuorkor is involved with the strategic direction and growth of the company. Taking on the role of the chief beauty consultant, her love for new ideas and desire to experiment coupled with her eye for detail results in delighted customers. These are the values that she instills into the staff to enhance the entire Twists and Locs experience.

She is self-taught in natural hair care and is a voracious seeker of knowledge.

Kuorkor believes that natural hair care is about options and the ability to choose hair care option that reflects one’s values, so at Twists and Locs salon, individuals are treated and styled to demonstrate that black hair can be natural and well maintained without the use of harsh chemicals to style and straighten hair.

Kuorkor has organized several bazaars under the name “The Natural Beauty Bazaar”, the first of such events to educate Ghanaians on natural hair care and showcase natural beauty products. She has organized industry events “Natural Beauty Conversations” to provide individuals in the natural beauty business an opportunity to network and gain skills in business management. She also organized the first large scale natural hair meet up in Accra in 2010: “Meet my Curls”, and since then has hosted a number of hair meet ups and workshops on natural hair. Her goal with these events is to educate people and also to support and empower the natural hair community in Ghana, as well those who provide products and resources to them.

Kuorkor has a BA Arts in English Literature & a Minor in Biology from Bryn Mawr College, USA; a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Management from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and an MBA, specializing in Strategy from the Olin Business School of Babson College, Massachusetts USA. She is an avid solicitor of feedback from clients of Twists and Locs to ensure continuous improvement on the service experience she delivers to Ghanaian naturals.
